Canada's Newest All Wheel Park Reaches Completion

Posted: November 22 - 2013

Following a dozen years of community and volunteer effort, the City of Nelson is celebrating the completion of Canada's newest All Wheel Park for skateboarders and bike riders.

"It's pretty indescribable," says 16-year-old LV Rogers student Jack McKay, who visited the extraordinary new facility last week along with two dozen members of the Kootenay Lake Outdoor Skatepark Society (KLOSPS), City Council members and City staff who took part in a commemorative group photo shoot marking the park's completion.

"It's unbelievable," echoed Nelson mayor John Dooley. "This is a project that has taken over 10 years of volunteering, fundraising and incredible dedication by so many of Nelson's residents and businesses," says the mayor. "Our thanks and pride go out to everyone who stuck with the vision and made this incredible recreation amenity a reality." (read more)
