I am a retired teacher and worked my entire 32 year career in Nelson, starting at South Nelson Elemen- tary before moving to Trafalgar and then on to the Distance Education School of the Kootenays. I have been married to Lorna for 33 years and have two adult sons. Our family loves living in Nelson and we appreciate the many cultural and recreational activi- ties this unique little town offers. I enjoy cross coun- try skiing in the winter and golf in the summer. My indoor activities include an addiction to cryptic crosswords and the board game called variously go, in Japan, weiqui, in China, or Baduk in Korea. I also enjoy travelling and Lorna and I are looking forward to a trip to New York and Europe later this year. I am also looking forward to the opportunities Rotary affords to become involved globally and locally with service projects and to learn more about events and organizations in my community and around the world.
