Banding Together

Posted: May 29 - 2017

Banding Together – The ads for the Banding Together event have started to appear in the local press. This will be a 100 piece mass band consisting of musicians from throughout the East and West Kootenay. Show time for this free event is June 4 at 2 pm at Lakeside Rotary Park.

Work has already started for food preparation for this huge catering job for the club to fulfill. We will be catering to 94 people for lunch on Saturday June 3 and Sunday June 4 and 110 for supper on Saturday June 3; in addition, we are operating the bar on Saturday evening. The Nelson Community Band is thrilled to have us catering this event as they know all proceeds will support local worthy causes.

Thank you to the following individuals who are providing leadership for this event: Marilyn Miller – Bar; Marie Berg – Sweets; Marilyn Miller – cobblers; Sandra England – meal prep supervision; Mary Lou Anctil – finances; Harry Pringle – menu and purchasing; Sheila Hart – ice, licenses, insurance and schedules. We are pleased that Chef Al Pollard will assist with dinner.
